C7. Design and installation of Signs
The purpose of this action is to design and install on all Cretan sites directional and information signs in order to help protect the habitats by minimizing visitor impacts and threats. Sings are a well established visitor management tool, however, there are different types of signs serving different purposes, not all of which have been trialed in Greece and more specifically in coastal dune Juniperus spp 2250* habitat. Directional and information signs will be designed and strategically positioned since different approaches are necessary, dependant on the types of tourism and activities undertaken at each site.
