A9. Governance structure and legal status

The purpose of this action is to determine the governance structure and the legal status of the Coastal dune with Juniperus spp. habitats in Greece. More specifically, governance has to do with power, relationships and accountability, and reflects what a society sees as fair, or is prepared to accept as such, in terms of the whos and hows of authority and responsibility. At the onset of the project, an investigation using semi structured interviews to identify key governance bodies as well as figures, and question them on the current governance procedures, their structure and effectiveness as well as the legislation tools available will be conducted. Additionally, this action will include a review of existing EU and national legislation and policies which affect the conservation of the habitat and more specifically the sites in Crete.

This Action is completed, see the deliverables of  this action below.
