E.4: Networking with other similar LIFE projects
The purpose of this action is to establish networks with other relevant Life Projects. Therefore, during the implementation of the project an informal network of LIFE projects working on the proposed topic will be set up. The principal aim of this action will be to collate information and experiences on coastal habitat restoration, conservation and management in Europe. This activity will enable the stimulation and international exchange of ideas and experience between consortia that have been working in the past or present on similar topics of restoration and sand dune conservation and management. The selection of the proposed consortia will be done in a complementary manner so that each one will be bringing specific skills of the highest quality which can further the progress of the present consortium and the project. Following the selection of potential organizations an official request for collaboration will be sent to them at the start of the project.
Together with the organizations that will respond to the invitation MAICh and the project partners will set up, a series of activities to pursuit in the life of the project. These activities may exchange visits and informal contacts (via email). Meeting will serve as a means to present the project’s progress to an external expert audience and get their feedback on the results. Therefore, in action D.4 training workshop a small number of academic and practitioners from other European LIFE projects will be invited to participate. In addition, short and exchange collaborative visits are envisaged between individuals of the current project and past similar LIFE projects to visit the sites in Greece and abroad to exchange information and ideas. Emphasis will be placed at encouraging where appropriate representatives from local authorities in Greece to visit similar projects abroad. In such way the continuation of the project beyond the duration of financing will be supported.
In addition the project website (action D.2) will establish electronic links with networking other LIFE projects ensuring wider dissemination of findings.
